Job summary

Phoenix Rescue Mission in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a compassionate outreach professional to connect with homeless individuals, motivate self-sufficiency, and help navigate social services. You will build relationships with community partners, create individualized case plans, and maintain client data in our database.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a social service field (or 4 years of related experience) and a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of experience in case management, social work, or related setting.
• Certified in Peer Support is preferred.
• Knowledge of street homelessness issues and resources to exit homelessness.
• Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record (2+ years) and ability to qualify for company Insurance Policy.
• Strong composure in stressful environments and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Connect with and motivate people living on the streets toward self-sufficiency.
• Assist homeless individuals in navigating social services to identify resources.
• Set goals and develop individualized case plans with outreach prospects.
• Establish relationships with community stakeholders and attend outreach events.
• Ensure client information is entered accurately in the PRM database.
• Lead or participate in devotions, prayers, or other Christian witness activities.

Your Top Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for connecting with and motivating people living on the streets to strive toward self-sufficiency.

Requirements

What You Should Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, or another social service field or 4 years of experience in case management, social work, or a similar setting, or a combination of education and experience
• Certified in Peer Support, preferred.
• You have knowledge of the problems facing the street homeless population and an awareness of the resources that help people exit homelessness.
• You have a current valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record of 2+ years (as verified by our company MVR check) and be able to qualify for our company Insurance Policy.
• You have a high level of composure and can remain calm in stressful situations.
• You are discreet and understand the importance of keeping client information confidential.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office apps.
• You have a solid and credible Christian witness and lifestyle that exemplifies Christ in character and actions.
