Job summary

Phoenix Rescue Mission, located in Arizona, is seeking a dedicated team member to support food distribution, intake, and mobile pantry operations. The role emphasizes coordination with volunteers, church and community partners, and maintaining a welcoming, Christ-centered environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong planning and communication skills, a valid Arizona driver's license, and a commitment to the Mission's Christian witness and values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or ministry training preferred.
  • Experience in food distribution, warehouse operations, outreach, or volunteer coordination preferred.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication; ability to work independently or with staff and volunteers.
  • Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record; able to qualify for PRM policy.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Solid and credible Christian witness and lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for food distribution activities and oversee client intake operations.
  • Oversee unloading, storage, and tracking of food and Gift-in-Kind (GIK) items.
  • Manage daily food packing and distribution for onsite and mobile pantry services.
  • Partner with churches and community organizations to coordinate mobile pantry distributions, including site scheduling, food prep and transport, volunteer coordination, and reporting.
  • Train and supervise volunteers and work therapy clients.
  • Complete administrative tasks including email, scheduling, data entry, and reporting.
  • Operate warehouse trucks and forklifts as needed to support food distribution programs.
  • Lead or participate in devotions, prayers, or other organization activities that promote a credible Christian witness.

YOUR TOP RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or ministry training preferred.
  • Prior experience in food distribution, warehouse operations, outreach, or volunteer coordination preferred; experience in church or nonprofit settings highly desirable.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively with staff, management, and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with program databases preferred.
  • Current valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record of 2+ years and ability to qualify for PRM's company insurance policy.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • A solid and credible Christian witness and lifestyle that exemplifies Christ in character and actions.
