Job summary

The City of Redmond is seeking a Street Maintenance Technician to help keep our roadways safe and functional. This full-time, 4/10 schedule requires operating heavy equipment, performing pothole repairs, and maintaining signage and markings.

A strong work ethic and customer-ready communication are essential. Responsibilities include winter response, vegetation control, and using tech tools to track work orders and inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with related field experience.
• Experience in street maintenance or construction preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair asphalt, street signs, pavement markings, and street furniture.
• Clear vegetation in the right of way using specialized mowers and handheld tools.
• Respond to weather events including snow, ice, wind, and flooding.
• Operate street sweeper, bucket lift truck, asphalt patching, and other heavy equipment.
• Safe operation of hand tools and vehicles; participate in after-hours standby rotas.
• Use computers/tablets to track work orders and perform inspections.
