The City of Red Oak is seeking a Streets Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled street maintenance tasks under supervision. You will safely operate tools and equipment to build, repair and maintain municipal streets infrastructure.

Responsibilities include repairing pavements, maintaining storm-drain systems, installing traffic signs, mowing, weed eating, and assisting in drainage projects. Requires a high school diploma or GED and willingness to train; valid Texas license and basic English

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Entry level; previous experience as a laborer or in construction is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided.
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment listed above.

Responsabilités

• Repairs concrete and/or asphalt pavement.
• Maintenance and repair of storm-drain inlets and flumes.
• Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair stormwater pipes and drainage ditches.
• Trash and debris cleanup on streets and right-of-ways.
• Creation and installation of traffic and street signs.
• Barricade maintenance.
• Tree trimming.
• Ice and flood control.
• Excavating by use of hand tools.
• Weed eating; and mowing.
• Builds forms, pours, and finishes concrete projects.
• Operates a variety of Public Works equipment (jackhammers, spray paint guns, rollers, front-end loaders, tamper, chainsaws, weed eaters & mowers, trucks).
• Painting or installing buttons, crosswalks, and other traffic markings.
• Installation of traffic and street signs.
• Assists in drainage projects.
