Job summary

City of El Segundo is seeking a Municipal Worker to perform a range of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the construction and maintenance of City streets, signs, and related equipment. The role involves assisting in asphalt and concrete work, installing signs, and painting legends with attention to safety and public service.

Qualifications include a minimum of 1 year in maintenance work, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid California driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class B

Qualifications

• Experience: One (1) year in grounds, street and/or building maintenance and repair work.
• Education: Graduation from high school or GED supplemented by college level coursework.
• Licensing: Valid California driver’s license; ability to obtain Class B license within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in removal and repair of asphalt and concrete on City roads and sidewalks.
• Install and maintain signs and related equipment.
• Paint street legends on streets, curbs, and parking lots.
• Set up barricades for traffic changes and events.
• Respond to emergency calls for assistance from the public or other agencies.
• Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs to assigned equipment, tools and vehicles.
