Job summary

City of Traverse City seeks a Street Maintenance Worker to perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks, focusing on heavy equipment operations to support construction and stormwater projects. Qualifications

• Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with related coursework or experience.
• Experience operating large vehicles and equipment is required.
• CDL Class A license with air brakes and N endorsement within 120 workdays.
• Must reside within 30 miles of city limits within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and large vehicles in construction and maintenance tasks.
• Support stormwater-related projects and street/alleys clearing of debris, snow, and ice.
• Follow safety standards and regulations while coordinating with supervisors and the public.
• Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and grade specifications.
