Job summary

The City of Salina (Public Works / Streets) seeks a Street Maintenance Worker to perform street repairs, debris removal, and operate essential equipment. On-the-job training will be provided to build confidence and proficiency in maintenance tasks and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include patching streets, maintaining storm sewers, and supporting flood control systems, with a focus on teamwork and community service. CDL training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Requires at least 1 year of construction or maintenance experience.
• Must live within 40 minutes response time and possess a valid KS driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform street, storm sewer, and municipal facility maintenance.
• Operate and maintain light to heavy equipment (trucks, backhoes, street sweepers, loaders).
• Patch streets, calculate materials, and perform concrete/masonry work.
• Provide public safety in construction zones per MUTCD.
• Assist with flood control systems and minor repairs.
