Job summary

The City of Stevens Point is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker to perform manual labor in the streets department and public works operations, including snow removal, equipment operation, and drop-off duties.

Work involves driving, operate heavy equipment, and assisting with traffic control. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Class B CDL (air brakes) or ability to obtain within six months. Reports to the Streets department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake test completed and passed or ability to obtain CDL in six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools and equipment for street repairs and maintenance.
• Perform manual labor for street, paint, and garage tasks.
• Plow snow on city sidewalks and parking areas as assigned.
• Substitute as laborer for garbage, recycling and drop-off duties.
• Drive dump, garbage, recycling, and snow plow vehicles.
• Assist with curbside leaf and Christmas tree collection and street patching.
• Set up traffic control barricades and signs.
• Assist in decoration setup and removal as required.
• Support traffic signal/street light maintenance.
