Job summary

StaffGreat.com is hiring a Founding Strategy & Operations Generalist in San Francisco to work directly with the CEO on high-impact problems from recruiting to pricing, finance, and new revenue motions.

You will own strategic recruiting, manage pipelines, conduct light financial modeling, coordinate with an accounting firm, and develop AI tools to automate work.

This is a high-exposure, high-agency role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and wants to shape a fast-growing fintech startup.

Qualifications

• 1–6 years out of school at a top consulting firm (MBB, Deloitte, Accenture, Oliver Wyman, EY-Parthenon) or operating role at a venture-backed startup.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems with data and reasoning.
• Fluent with AI tools and capable of building automations or agents.

Responsibilities

• Own strategic recruiting: build hiring processes, manage the pipeline, and help triple headcount without lowering the bar.
• Handle generalist operations: contract review, billing, accounting firm coordination, light financial modeling, and admin tasks.
• Develop pricing models and new revenue motions as opportunities arise.

We're hiring a Founding Strategy & Operations Generalist for an AI fintech startup. You'll work directly with the CEO as a high-agency, analytical generalist tackling the company's hardest problems — starting with recruiting and expanding into sales, pricing, finance, and whatever the company needs most.

What you'll be doing

• Own strategic recruiting: build out the hiring process, manage the pipeline, and help the company triple headcount without lowering the bar
• Take on generalist business operations — contract review, billing, managing the accounting firm, light financial modeling, and insurance/admin tasks
• Work on strategic projects like pricing model development and new revenue motions as they come up
• Build AI tools, agents, and automations to take as much work off humans as possible
• Serve as a junior chief of staff — get thrown ambiguous problems with clear outcomes and figure out how to solve them independently

Key requirements

• 1–6 years out of school at a top consulting firm (MBB, Deloitte, Accenture, Oliver Wyman, EY-Parthenon), in finance (investment banking/PE), or in an operating role at a venture-backed startup
• Strong analytical skills — must pass a rigorous live analytical screen with the CEO involving data reasoning and structured problem-solving
• Genuinely fluent with AI tools — a daily user who has built automations or agents themselves, not just enthusiastic
• High-agency generalist who thrives on ambiguity and doesn't need structured guidance to be productive
