Job summary

Strativ Group in San Francisco seeks a Head of Business Operations Dev – AI Research to drive initiatives from problem definition to execution. You will lead operations across contracts, legal workflows, cap tables, and vendor management while coordinating with legal, finance, customers and advisers.

Head of Business Operations Dev – AI Research
About the Company

This lab is conducting research in AI safety, model interpretability and general AI, with a particular interest in complex, high-stakes decision domains like finance, enterprise software, and infrastructure. They have large contracts with top labs across the world and are at an exciting inflection point following their latest launch. The team blends deep learning researchers, engineers, and operators who have scaled products and transactions in the real world. Backed by top VCs and AI industry investors, this lab operates at the intersection of foundational research and applied impact. Following a recent launch they have scaled ARR at near record-breaking speed.

What you’ll do
  • Act as a founder extension, taking projects from problem definition to execution.
  • Lead operational initiatives and address the business’s most important priorities.
  • Support complex commercial processes, including major contracts and operational follow-through.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including legal, finance, customers, and advisers.
  • Manage areas such as corporate operations, legal workflows, cap-table matters, and vendor management.
  • Build scalable systems, including AI agents and automations that reduce manual operational work.
  • Identify bottlenecks, bring structure to ambiguity, and maintain an exceptionally high standard of execution.

  • A clear bias toward action and a reliable ability to get work over the line.
  • Interest and capability in applying AI and automation to business operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including with senior stakeholders.

We are open-minded on background, but would be particularly interested in:

  • Former founders or early-stage startup operators.
  • Consultants from McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or comparable high-performance firms.
  • Candidates from investment banking or similarly demanding commercial environments who want to move into an operating role.
  • Operators from fast-scaling technology businesses; Palantir R2 experience is of particular interest.
Working style
  • The role is ideally office-based (SF city), 4/5 days per week. Flexibility is possible for an exceptional candidate with a proven track record of independent execution. Travel is not required, though optional international travel opportunities may arise.
