Job summary

Panthalassa, a renewable energy and ocean technology company, seeks a Director of Strategy to shape financing, investor communications, and strategic messaging. You will run capital-formation efforts, develop financial models, and prepare materials for sophisticated investors and partners.

You will report to the EVP, Strategy and collaborate with the CEO while managing cross-time-zone interactions, with the potential to lead a small team as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and a willingness to share samples.
• Fluency with financing structures, cap tables, valuation, and scenario modeling.
• Deep working knowledge of AI infrastructure and energy, including major companies, investors, technologies, and policy debates.
• Experience working with investors, partners, or colleagues across countries and time zones.
• A track record of taking responsibility for outcomes under tight deadlines and high stakes.

Responsibilities

• Investor Relations: Manage investor relationships between financings and due diligence.
• Capital Formation: Define financing strategy, round size, structure, and timing; drive transactions to close.
• Financial Modeling: Build and test models for financings and scenarios; review others’ work.
• Writing: Produce investor letters, board materials, memos, and high-clarity communications.
• Presentations: Create decks that explain complex plans with rigor and visual judgment.
• Market Intelligence: Track markets, investors, and debates; translate into actionable views.
• AI-Assisted Research: Use AI to accelerate research; verify sources and edit outputs.
• Company Representation: Represent Panthalassa in investor meetings and conferences.
• Team Development: Recruit, manage, and develop strategy hires as the function grows.
