Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Doctorate in a relevant marine/environmental field with a strong research track record
• Experience leading scientific teams and research programs
• Experience communicating scientific findings to diverse audiences
• Proven ability to translate research into engineering strategy and deployment plans
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, design, and manufacturing teams
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork and conferences

Responsibilities

• Build out and lead Panthalassa's internal environmental impact function as deployments scale
• Expand research strategy around environmental impact and external partnerships
• Develop environmental metrics, standards, and monitoring protocols
• Lead external engagement with universities, nonprofits, and research groups
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate environmental considerations into product design and deployment methods
• Represent Panthalassa in scientific communities and publish findings
