Job summary

Panthalassa is a renewable energy and ocean technology company seeking a Director, Strategy to shape financing and investor communications. You will report to the EVP of Strategy and work with the CEO to craft models, materials, and updates for capital formation and investor relations, aligning leadership with market realities and strategic goals.

The role is global, often requiring off-hours across time zones, with potential to hire and lead a small team as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in startups, VC, IB, consulting, or a comparable analytical environment.
• Excel and PowerPoint expert; comfortable with Google Sheets and Figma.
• Excellent writing; willing to share samples.
• Fluency with financing structures, cap tables, valuation, and scenario modeling.
• Deep knowledge of AI infrastructure and energy; major players and debates.
• Experience working with investors/partners across countries and time zones.
• Proven record delivering outcomes under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Investor relations: manage relationships between financings and update data rooms.
• Cap formation: shape financing strategy, round size, structure, timing; drive transactions.
• Financial modeling: own models for financings and scenarios; review others' work.
• Writing: investor letters, board memos, and high-clarity communications.
• Presentations: decks that explain complex financial and strategic plans.
• Market intelligence: track markets, investors, and debates; produce views.
• AI-assisted research: use AI to accelerate research; check sources and edit outputs.
• Company representation: represent Panthalassa with investors and at conferences.
• Team development: recruit and develop strategy hires as function grows.
