Job summary

King & Sykes is hiring for a Strategy role in Dallas. The team acts as the company's problem-solving unit, handling growth strategy, market outlook, and operating model design with close CEO and board exposure.

Candidates typically have 2–4 years at top firms and 1–2 years post-undergrad; clear problem-solving ability and comfort with ambiguity are essential. In-office Dallas with equity and significant upside bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years at MBB, Strategy&, EY-Parthenon, Bain, Deloitte S&O, A&M or a comparable firm.
• 1 to 2 years out of undergrad with 1 to 2 years of consulting will also be considered.
• Strong structured problem-solving is the one non-negotiable.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth strategy, new business expansion, market outlook and process improvement initiatives.
• Design operating models and contribute to corporate development activities.
• Embed with the client team to deliver actionable recommendations and track impact.
• Support strategic decisions reaching the CEO and board with speed over polish.

Why people leave consulting for this:

It is a five-year project, not a 21-day one. You stay with the same client, the same team and the same questions long enough to see what your recommendations did, and you build the kind of depth in one business that rotating through clients never gives you. You are part of the team doing the work, not the person telling them what to do.

The team is still being built, so you would help shape it. Associates who prove themselves can embed into a business unit as its strategy lead after roughly 18 months.

The role

The Strategy team is small and works as the company's problem-solving unit. Priorities are set weekly, and anything that does not sit inside a functional team lands with you: growth strategy, new business expansion, market outlook, process improvement, operating model design and some corporate development. The work reaches the CEO and the board.

There is no research desk and no offshore team, so you build the analysis, form the view and stand behind it. Speed is valued above polish. There is no culture of sitting in the office for the sake of it.

Who we are looking for

The package

Up to $150k base, 40 to 50% target bonus and equity. Dallas, in office.
