Job summary

Southern Company Services is seeking a Strategic Workforce Planning Analyst to serve as the analytics lead for a regional scope. You will translate workforce data into executive insights, co-author enterprise summaries, and collaborate with HR and finance to support strategic decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in analytics, with strong BI skills (Power BI/Tableau) and HR data experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, HR, Economics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in people/workforce analytics, FP&A analytics, consulting, or related analytical roles.
• Demonstrated ability to convert data into executive-ready insights and narratives, not just reporting results.
• Proficiency with BI and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau, Excel); HRIS/Oracle HCM data experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of workforce metrics (headcount/FTE, vacancies, attrition/movement, hiring pipeline indicators, workforce segments).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; align HR, Finance, and business partners around a shared story and definitions.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, create structure where none exists, challenge assumptions, and translate complex workforce issues into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as workforce planning analytics partner for an assigned region, interpreting trends and risks.
• Co‑own enterprise, operating company, and business unit summaries with key themes and commentary.
• Identify workforce signals and develop actionable recommendations for follow‑through.
• Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics to refine dashboards and views.
• Apply frameworks while incorporating local business context for enterprise rollup.
• Reconcile differences across HR data, staffing plans, and budgets, documenting assumptions.
• Support data, tools, and implementation efforts with reusable materials and training.
• Translate insights into practical actions with HR partners.
