Job summary

Southern Company seeks a data analytics professional to lead BI initiatives, data modeling, and reporting development. You will design OLAP cubes, dashboards, and ETL processes while aligning analytics with the enterprise data management strategy.

You will partner with data architects and business units to deliver scalable BI solutions, ensure data quality, governance, and strong customer service. This on-site role supports Birmingham or Atlanta locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related degree preferred.
• Experience with implementing BI/analytics solutions using the Microsoft BI/analytics toolset.
• Experience using Power BI APIs and Administrative functions.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, competitive information technology organization

Responsibilities

• Capture, document, analyze, and correlate business information from multiple data sources
• Scope, develop, package and deliver new business intelligence and analytics solutions
• Develop online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes, static/dynamic dashboards, and interactive reports, charts, and graphs based on customer needs
• Design and develop ETL packages; demonstrate thorough understanding of ETL components
• Design, build and deliver new reports, measures, and KPIs
• Perform detailed data analysis and developing dimensional data models
• Serve as a BI subject matter expert to properly assess BI needs for business unit users and map those needs to appropriate back-end solution architectures (i.e. OLTP/transactional databases, data marts, data warehouses, cubes, tabular models, local data sources, etc.)
• Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery
• Collaborate with peers; mentoring team members to enhance skills and abilities; providing leadership as required
