Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Strategic Weapons Systems Specialist to support SLBM/SSBN/SSN/SSGN documentation for the Navy fleet at Dahlgren, VA. The role involves learning cutting-edge weapon systems, guiding the documentation process, and advising government engineers and fleet personnel on procedures and publishing practices.

You will help design, review and contribute to Navy system documentation, while mentoring staff and ensuring final QA for all deliverables.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering/science or 4 years of related experience or Navy experience at E4+.
• Six years of hands-on SWS operation on SSBN/SSN/SSGN platforms.
• Experience developing and maintaining SSN/SSBN procedures and reference docs.
• Knowledge of targeting, operational and training documentation.
• Active SECRET clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Advise, manage and mentor personnel in technical documentation.
• Interface with engineers and fleet personnel on editing/publication of Fleet Documentation, SOPs and Targeting Tactics for SWS.
• Oversee development of operational procedures.
• Track flow of documents from inception to final distribution.
• Identify and fix problem areas; provide final QA for deliverables.
• Use software tools for document production and electronic docs.
• Maintain electronic/hardcopy data libraries of docs.
• Generate documents to support R&D scientists and engineers.
