Job summary

The Suddath Companies seeks an experienced logistics leader to manage freight movement in and out of the warehouse, while coaching a team and coordinating with Transportation Operations. You will drive cost controls, optimize warehouse programs, and ensure service levels align with company objectives.

Required are a Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field and 8+ years of experience in logistics or a similar industry, with strong leadership, budgeting, and KPI development skills.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and coaching abilities with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem solving, communication and planning skills.
• Experience building vendor relationships and managing metrics.
• Knowledge of warehouse and transportation management systems (WMS).
• Financial acumen and budgeting experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage all freight movement functions for inbound and outbound warehousing.
• Train and supervise staff to meet department and company goals.
• Interface with Transportation Operations to resolve scheduling and dispatch issues.
• Develop warehousing programs meeting cost, service and production needs.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for on-time delivery, shipping costs, inventory, and productivity.
• Maintain budgets and provide senior management with periodic reports.
• Build strong relationships with customers and resolve escalations.
