Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Washington Conservation Transactions Director to lead the Transactions Team and drive complex conservation deals across Washington and the Western U.S. and Canada division.

You will coordinate with legal, finance, government relations, philanthropy and science teams to implement land protection projects that deliver climate-resilient, ecologically representative outcomes. You will manage donor engagements, advise on protection tools, and represent the organization

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or higher in natural resources management, conservation, business, law or related field.
• Experience negotiating complex real estate or land protection transactions.
• Proven supervisory and team-management experience.
• Strong project management with ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities.
• Experience coordinating with legal, finance, philanthropy, and program teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2-3 professionals and oversee the transactions workflow to align with priorities.
• Negotiate complex real estate transactions with government agencies, tribes, and private parties.
• Advise on transactional tools to advance conservation outcomes.
• Collaborate across departments to deploy protection approaches and secure funding.
• Prepare project approvals and donor-facing reports and proposals.
