Job summary

CompassMSP seeks a strategic vCIO to act as a technology advisor for MSP clients, aligning IT with business goals and driving growth and operational excellence. You will lead client discussions, create roadmaps, and guide security, compliance, and governance initiatives.

The role emphasizes CIO-level consulting, vendor negotiations, and oversight of IT budgets and risk management to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

Proven IT leadership experience at CIO/IT Director level or senior technical consultant.
Strong understanding of MSP business models and managed services delivery.
Expertise in cloud services, cybersecurity, compliance frameworks, and infrastructure management.
Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for business audiences.

Responsibilities

Develop multi-year IT roadmaps tailored to client needs.
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews to evaluate progress and adjust strategies.
Align technology initiatives with client goals, budgets, and timelines.
Provide CIO-level consulting for clients without a dedicated CIO.
Serve as trusted advisor to executive teams on IT investments and priorities.
Recommend emerging technologies to foster innovation and competitive advantage.
Oversee IT governance, risk management, and security frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2).
Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Budgeting and vendor management to ensure ROI and SLA adherence.
