Job summary

The City of Bellevue Transportation Department is seeking a motivated leader for the Transportation Operations and Maintenance Manager role. You will direct Streets and Traffic Signal Maintenance, oversee a ~43-person team, and coordinate emergency response with cross-department partners.

Reporting to the Assistant Transportation Director for Mobility Operations, you will shape maintenance priorities and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management or transportation operations and maintenance related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible field operations/maintenance experience, including supervisory or lead work.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Direct reports include supervisors and technical staff; provides direction and performance management.
• Recruits, selects, and evaluates staff; sets priorities and workload for field teams.
• Develops and manages operating budgets for Streets and Signal Maintenance; oversees procurement and contracts.
• Oversees safety programs and risk management for maintenance teams.
• Leads coordination with other city departments and unions (Teamsters, IBEW) for maintenance activities.
• Responds to emergencies and weather events, coordinating with dispatch and other departments.
