Job summary

The City of Bellevue, Washington is seeking a Transportation Operations and Maintenance Manager to lead Streets and Traffic Signal Maintenance. You will guide a 43-person team, oversee safety programs, and manage emergency response for weather events from the Bellevue Service Center.

Reporting to the Assistant Transportation Director for Mobility Operations, you’ll coordinate with utilities, parks, and fleet maintenance on joint projects and ensure alignment with city goals and budgets.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible leadership experience in field operations or maintenance.
• Strong budget, policy, and performance management capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate with unions and multiple city teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for Streets and Traffic Signal Maintenance operations.
• Lead scheduling, safety, and contractor coordination for maintenance work.
• Oversee emergency response planning and incident management.
• Develop budgets and supervise procurement and cost control.
• Mentor staff and drive continuous improvement across teams.
