Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Training & Development Manager to lead Lexicon University programs, driving leadership development, skilled trades readiness, and workforce capability across our organization.

You will design curricula, facilitate diverse learning experiences, and measure outcomes to ensure consistent, high-quality learner experiences. The role partners with business leaders to scale development pathways and strengthen Lexicon’s talent pipeline.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in training and development, preferably in construction, heavy manufacturing, skilled trades, or related operational environment.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing people, including coaching, performance management, delegation, workload planning, and supporting employee development.
• Experience facilitating training sessions and managing multiple development programs from planning through execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with grant writing, grant management, reporting, or administration for workforce development, apprenticeship, training, or education-related programs is preferred.
• Ability to work within the U.S. without company sponsorship, now and in the future.
• Spoken and written fluency in English is a must; Spanish fluency is a strong asset but not required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple Lexicon University development programs including leadership development, skilled trades, apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship pathways, onboarding and early-career development, safety learning, technical skills, and professional development initiatives.
• Partner with leaders across divisions to assess workforce capability needs and translate them into structured development plans, curriculum maps, learning paths, and program rollout strategies.
• Facilitate in-person, virtual, and blended learning experiences that build leadership capability, technical confidence, and operational readiness across a distributed workforce.
• Develop and continuously improve training materials, facilitator guides, participant resources, assessments, program calendars, and e-learning content.
• Track and evaluate program effectiveness using feedback, assessments, data, and business impact to guide continuous improvement.
• Manage and coach direct reports or team members responsible for training coordination, facilitation, curriculum support, learner communication, and program administration.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, certification partners, SMEs, and internal stakeholders to support learning solutions and credentialing needs.
• Support workforce development programs such as internships and pre-hire readiness and employee transition pathways.
• Support grant writing, grant administration, reporting, and compliance activities related to workforce development and leadership programs.
