Job summary

Lexicon Inc. seeks a Training and Development Specialist to support Lexicon University, coordinating learning programs and maintaining records across trades and leadership development. You will collaborate with leadership, instructors, and employees to enhance learner experiences and program outcomes.

The role focuses on administration of training, apprenticeship coordination, and leadership programs, with emphasis on analytics and content management to drive continuous improvement.

Position Summary

The Training and Development Specialist supports Lexicon University by coordinating learning programs, maintaining learning systems and records, supporting apprenticeships and internships, monitoring program effectiveness, and helping improve the learner experience across trades, leadership, and professional development programs.

This role partners with Training and Development leadership, business leaders, instructors, apprentices, and employees to coordinate learning experiences, support communication, gather feedback, and recommend improvements that strengthen program outcomes.

This position is a strong fit for an early-career professional interested in learning operations, talent development, workforce development, apprenticeship and internship support, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.

Salary

Salary Range $55,000 - $65,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on selected candidate's relevant experience and qualifications for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Learning Program Administration
  • Maintain training schedules, rosters, attendance, completions, certifications, and learning records across systems.
  • Track employee participation across trades, leadership, and professional development offerings.
  • Manage course enrollments and support learner communications before, during, and after training events.
  • Keep training materials, participant guides, and job aids current, accessible, and ready for use.
Apprenticeship & Internship Program Coordination and Participant Success
  • Coordinate apprenticeship and trades internship administration, including records, competency tracking, required hours, certifications, documentation, and compliance-related reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with participants, supervisors, technical coaches, Human Resources, educational partners, and Training and Development leadership to support positive learning experiences.
  • Monitor participant progress, engagement, attendance, feedback, performance trends, barriers, concerns, retention risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct check-ins, facilitate dialogue, analyze feedback and retention data, and recommend actions that strengthen participant success, program effectiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Leadership Program Coordination
  • Coordinate leadership development programs, including nominations, registrations, assignments, assessments, feedback collection, facilitator preparation, classroom needs, Executive Administration support, and follow-up activities.
  • Build relationships with participants, supervisors, facilitators, and business leaders to support engagement, development, and program effectiveness.
  • Monitor participant engagement, feedback, and program outcomes to identify opportunities to strengthen learning experiences and improve program effectiveness.
Learning Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze learning data, participant feedback, and program outcomes to identify trends, risks, insights, and recommendations that improve program effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and accurate learning data to support decision-making, funding requirements, grant reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain data integrity across learning systems and reporting tools.
  • Compile participation, completion, budget, and impact documentation required for grant-related reporting.
Learning Content & Technology Management
  • Maintain and support creation of digital learning content, SharePoint resources, course catalog information, learning pathways, resource libraries, presentations, job aids, e-learning modules, knowledge checks, and related training materials.
  • Assist with basic video editing, graphic design, presentation formatting, and digital content updates.
  • Research learning technologies, AI tools, virtual reality, gamification, and industry practices that may improve learning efficiency, engagement, or user experience.
  • Ensure learning content and technology resources remain accurate, organized, and aligned with program needs.
Communication & Employee Engagement
  • Promote learning opportunities by developing and sharing program announcements, participant reminders, success stories, recognition campaigns, and related communications through LexComm, SharePoint, newsletters, and other communication channels.
  • Build relationships across the organization to gather employee feedback and insights regarding learning needs, interests, barriers, skill gaps, career growth interests, and business capability requirements, then translate those insights into recommendations that inform future learning initiatives, program enhancements, and course offerings.
  • Help create a positive culture of continuous learning by highlighting participant successes, career pathways, and program impact across the organization.
  • Support new training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts by preparing project plans, meeting notes, action trackers, implementation timelines, pilot support materials, stakeholder feedback summaries, benchmarking research, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Support grant writing and compliance by gathering program descriptions, outcome data, workforce development needs, budget inputs, supporting documentation, deliverable updates, deadlines, and evidence of program impact.
Responsibilities Specifically Excluded

This role is not primarily responsible for travel booking, catering, conference room reservations, event logistics, or executive scheduling. These responsibilities are coordinated in partnership with Lexicon's Executive Administration team.

Qualifications
Required
  • Experience coordinating projects, programs, events, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience maintaining records, tracking data, preparing reports, or supporting business operations through administrative processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees, leaders, instructors, educational partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting training, learning and development, workforce development, Human Resources, education, apprenticeships, internships, or related programs.
  • Experience utilizing learning technologies, Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, Forms, Power BI, Copilot, artificial intelligence tools, or similar platforms to improve efficiency, communication, reporting, or user experience.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting information to support decision-making, program evaluation, or continuous improvement efforts.
  • Exposure to grant writing, grant administration, nonprofit funding, workforce development grants, or compliance reporting.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, workforce development, or similarly operational environments.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work in a high-pressure working environment with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.Some overtime, weekend work and overnight travel is required.Willingness and ability to meet trainees where they work, which includes production facilities and construction sites.Must be able to sit for long periods of time working directly on a computer.Must be ethical, energetic, and have a passion for delivering solutions.
