The Town of Stonington seeks a Town Planner to lead land use planning initiatives within the Development Department. You will provide technical support to planning boards, commissions, and the public, and assess a range of development proposals from commercial to residential.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in planning, three years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license; a master’s degree or AICP is desirable. This is a full-time, exempt union position with benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban, Regional or Community Planning or related field.
• Three years professional experience in Land Use Planning or Natural Resource Management preferred.
• Master’s Degree can substitute for two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• AICP Certification desirable; Driver license required.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organize, direct, and participate in Land Use and Development activities.
• Provide technical assistance to planning boards, agencies, and the public.
• Review land development proposals across commercial, office, residential, and industrial sectors.
• Coordinate reviews with other departments and resolve conflicts consistent with Town goals.
