Job summary

Willdan is seeking a Sr. Director of Benefits and Total Rewards to shape and lead a comprehensive reward strategy for employees across the U.S. and Canada.

You will advise executives on compensation, benefits, recognition, and absence management programs while coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders. In this role you will design, implement, and communicate total rewards programs, manage budgets, and drive alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, trends, and regulations in the U.S.; Canadian regulatory knowledge is a plus.
• Industry experience in consulting, engineering, or energy preferred.
• Technical skills with HRIS and compensation analysis tools.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing total rewards strategies and technology systems.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as CCP, CBP, SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Experience managing Canadian and international compensation and benefits programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Company’s comprehensive strategy for Total Rewards across the U.S. and Canada.
• Provide strategic direction for design, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation programs and incentives.
• Evaluate and improve rewards programs to align with business and talent strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to write and facilitate commission and incentive plans.
• Ensure total rewards programs comply with applicable laws and policies.
• Manage vendor relationships and technology partners to support rewards initiatives.
• Create metrics to measure program effectiveness and ROI.
• Participate in contract negotiations to secure best-in-class programs.
• Develop and manage budgets for benefits and compensation in partnership with Finance.
• Support mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration planning.
• Oversee Leave of Absence and ADA process management with relevant teams.
• Deliver communications and training on total rewards programs.
