Job summary

SSAB is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to grow wear parts and consultative wear services across defined territories in the United States. You will promote SSAB’s wear part portfolio, including Hardox, and coordinate with operations to meet sales targets while leveraging market drivers in mining, recycling and construction.

The role requires 2+ years in steel/mining sales, strong communication, CAD familiarity, and the ability to travel about 50% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in steel, mining, industrial, recycling or maintenance repair industry.
• 2+ years in sales and technical knowledge in the steel, mining, industrial, recycling or maintenance repair industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with drawings, templates, CAD and nesting software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with exemplary customer service.
• Strong analytical, judgment, teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial; develop business, sales and marketing plans; introduce new products and services.
• Current/active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Grow SSAB’s wear parts and consultative wear services in defined territories.
• Sell SSAB parts and wear services to end users; participate in marketing to penetrate new fabrication, repair, and spare parts business; promote scanning technology (FARO) and wear monitoring programs.
• Support and promote the sales of SSAB’s product portfolio including wear parts produced within SSAB’s network and consultative wear service programs (Hardox and complementary branded products).
• Coordinate with Operations Managers to drive growth of processing capabilities and wear parts for SSAB branded products; leverage market influencers and drivers in key segments.
• Present our offer effectively to end users and after market wear parts; support growth plans for fully owned sites.
• Deliver on prioritized areas with tight coordination with sales and business development; provide weekly activity reporting against budgeted sales and pricing feedback.
• Analyze competing companies/products to determine strengths/weaknesses and SSAB positioning.
• Work with purchasing to forecast inventory; assist inside sales on RFQs for value-added parts and services.
• Disseminate SSAB products and wear solutions to customers through technical information and training.
