Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies seeks a Technical Proposal Writer to craft compliant, compelling responses to commercial and government solicitations. The on-site role in Fairfax, VA collaborates with Capture, Volume Leads, SMEs, and Contracts to deliver high-quality proposals within defined page counts.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s, or 1 year with a Master’s, or 7 years with a HS diploma, and strong MS Office/SharePoint

Qualifications

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field OR 1 year with Master’s in related field OR 7 years with HS diploma or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of compliance with government RFPs, ability to analyze RFPs and outline responses.
• Strong verbal and written communication with high attention to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Facilitation, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
• Proficient word processing and familiarity with SharePoint or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Write assigned proposal sections in line with schedule and outline within page limits.
• Review RFPs and amendments to understand requirements and impacts.
• Incorporate changes and assist with annotated outlines for sections.
• Help formulate graphics to support written content.
• Ensure sections reflect win strategy and discriminators.
• Coordinate with SMEs and maintain document version control.
• Develop questions for the Proposal Manager and respond to reviewer comments.
