Job summary
Capital One seeks a Lead Technical Consultant to drive technical execution, manage Jira backlogs, and build release plans across our digital product ecosystem. Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Agile Delivery Lead managing software development teams in banking/payments.
- At least 2 years of experience with API testing tools and JIRA.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead Agile Delivery Management: plan, align, demo, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Own backlog and user stories with acceptance criteria, DoR, and DoD; sign off on deliverables.
- Oversee capacity and release planning; monitor velocity and metrics in Jira for predictable delivery.
- Shield implementation teams from ad-hoc changes and shifting priorities to maintain focus.
- Identify bottlenecks, automate workflows, and drive process improvements to reduce time-to-market.
- Manage risks, dependencies, and roadblocks to protect releases and business operations.
- Act as the technical bridge between stakeholders and core engineering; support API sizing, impact assessments, and troubleshooting.
