Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead Technical Consultant to lead technical execution, manage Jira backlogs, and drive delivery optimization across our digital product ecosystem. You will shield the implementation teams from shifts in priority and coordinate between business stakeholders and core engineering groups to ensure timely launches.

The role requires technical project leadership, backlog ownership, and strong API/backend knowledge to size, assess impact, and resolve integration issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Agile Delivery Lead managing software development teams within the banking or payments industries.
• At least 2 years of experience working with API testing tools and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Agile delivery management: plan, align, demo, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Translate features into user stories with acceptance criteria, DoR, and DoD; sign off on deliverables.
• Oversee capacity, release plans, and metrics in Jira for predictable delivery.
• Protect downstream teams from mid-stream changes and priority shifts.
• Identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows to reduce time-to-market.
• Mitigate risks and unblock critical dependencies before releases.
• Serve as a cross-functional technical liaison between stakeholders and engineering.
• Provide API/backend guidance for sizing, impact, and troubleshooting.
