Saft America, Inc. is seeking a Technical Buyer to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for engineered materials and components essential to manufacturing, engineering, and R&D activities.

The role requires a technical engineering background, with a focus on cost reduction, supplier development, and collaboration across procurement, engineering, and production teams to support NPI and lifecycle management in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.
• MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in technical procurement or strategic sourcing in manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing engineered products and complex components.
• Experience supporting new product introductions and engineering-driven procurement.
• Proven supplier development, cost reduction, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for technical commodities and specialized services.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers meeting technical, quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
• Lead supplier selection through bidding, market analysis, and capability assessments.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to optimize total cost of ownership.
• Monitor market trends, supplier risks, and capacity constraints affecting materials.
• Ensure uninterrupted material flow to support production schedules and commitments.
• Collaborate with Design/Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on NPI and lifecycle management.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, BOMs, and material standards.
• Support ECOs and product revisions by coordinating supplier actions.
• Conduct supplier process and quality reviews; drive cost reduction initiatives.
