Job summary

KEB America, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Technical Buyer responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing supply of technical components, materials, and services to support manufacturing.

You will work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement. Proficiency in SAP and strong negotiation/analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations or related discipline.
• A technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure technical components, raw materials, assemblies, equipment and services.
• Evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, performance and capacity.
• Set up and maintain data in SAP
• Generate, create, alter, and cancel purchase orders
• Coordinate with suppliers and KEB departments for material
• Determine air or sea freight for international vendors
• Obtain quotes and source items/services
• Update purchase orders with inbound goods information
• Assist in inventory management
• Expedite purchase orders and follow up
• Create and update vendor information
• Assist in part change/new part creation
• Purchasing or planning projects as assigned
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean
• Other duties as required
