Job summary

Securian Financial is seeking a Category Manager (Senior Analyst or Consultant level) to lead technology procurement initiatives in a hybrid work environment in Minnesota. You will negotiate software, SaaS, hardware, and professional services contracts, manage vendor relationships, and guide cross-functional sourcing teams to optimize spend while meeting client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with contract law, compliance, and experience assessing and mitigating risk.
• 2-3 years’ experience with project management.
• A passion for negotiating win-win, mutually beneficial partnerships with vendors.
• Demonstrated skill in data-driven analyses that drives creative problem solving, strategy creation, and negotiation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and an ability to collaborate with people at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: prioritize and maintain productivity while managing high volumes.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate technology contracts such as Software, SaaS, Hardware, and Professional Services to mitigate risk.
• Provide relationship management for technology vendors and establish mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
• Lead and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the entire sourcing process for technology products and services.
• Manage technology categories to optimize Securian Financial spend while meeting client needs and driving business outcomes.
