Securian Financial is seeking a Category Manager within its Strategic Technology Vendor Management team. The role supports technology transformation, contracting, and vendor management across the enterprise.

A strong focus on negotiation, risk and relationship-building with key technology vendors will be essential. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to influence enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, with the potential to progress to Senior Analyst or Consultant

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience with contract law, compliance, and experience assessing and mitigating risk.
• 2-3 years' experience with project management.
• A passion for negotiating win-win, mutually beneficial partnerships with vendors.
• Demonstrated skill in data-driven analyses that drives creative problem solving, strategy creation, and negotiation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and an ability to collaborate with people at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: prioritize and maintain productivity while managing high volumes.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate technology focused contracts such as Software, SaaS, Hardware, and Professional Services to mitigate business, financial, legal, reputational and technical risk.
• Provide relationship management functions for technology vendors including establishing and maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships with key technology vendors.
• Lead and provide oversight to cross-functional teams throughout the entire sourcing process for technology products and services.
• Manage technology categories to optimize Securian Financial spend while meeting or exceeding client needs and driving key business outcomes.

Securian Financials' Strategic Technology Vendor Management team has a job opening for aCategory Manager. In this role you'll use a relationship-first approach to support key initiatives in the company's technology transformation and drive alignment with enterprise-wide goals. Be a part of a team devoted to taking a strategic approach leading the enterprise through technology sourcing, contracting, category and vendor management activities, serving as a trusted partner to drive key outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$59,400.00 - $109,200.00
