Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks an experienced HR professional to manage talent acquisition, position classification and compensation, and related training initiatives. The role supports policy interpretation and works across a 600+ employee agency.

Responsibilities include posting jobs, screening applicants, verifying credentials, conducting salary analyses, and presenting to leadership. Occasional travel to VDACS offices and career fairs is required.

Competenze

• Advanced knowledge of human resources principles and practices as they relate to talent acquisition, classification and compensation.
• Experience in screening, interviewing and advising managers on salary decisions and position descriptions.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs and to interpret HR policies for diverse audiences.
• Strong communication, facilitation, organization and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruitment/HRIS systems; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Mansioni

• Assist with posting jobs, screening applicants and preparing interview materials.
• Support salary analyses for new and existing staff and help revise Position Descriptions (PDs).
• Represent the agency at career fairs and ensure time-to-fill goals are met.
• Provide back-up support to the HR Administrative Analyst; travel to VDACS offices as needed.
• Support telework initiatives and policy development for assigned areas.
