Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Department Manager 3 in Roy, UT, to lead a department within the Systems Engineering organization and mentor multiple section managers. You will oversee planning, risk management, and technical quality across program areas such as Sentinel/GBSD and ICBM Sustainment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM with extensive related experience or a Masters with fewer years, and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
• Owns people, processes, and tools to support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.
• Recruiting, staffing, and retaining talent to deliver on objectives.
• Supporting proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standup and audits, and special assignments as needed.

• Reviews engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a department within the Systems Engineering organization and report to the SDS Systems Engineering Director.
• Set operating objectives and provide mentorship to FHR Section Managers.
• Provide oversight to multiple business areas within the division portfolio (Sentinel/GBSD, ICBM Sustainment and Advanced Programs).
• Manage planning, risk, project performance, schedule, and technical quality.
• Develop and maintain talent within the organization.
• Lead improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development, training, and retention of top talent.
