Job summary

Shakespeare Company seeks a Director of Supply Chain to lead end-to-end procurement, production planning, logistics, and 3PL management across three business units in Columbia, SC. You will build a unified strategy, drive cost reductions, and mentor a team of five Buyers/Planners/Schedulers plus a Shipping & Receiving Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing buyers, planners, or supply chain staff.
• Demonstrated experience managing 3PL relationships and freight/logistics networks.
• Proven track record delivering measurable cost reductions in procurement, freight, or inventory.
• Experience supporting multiple business units, product lines, or plants.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, ADP, Epicor or similar) and inventory management tools.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a unified supply chain strategy across three business units, balancing shared best practices with unit needs.
• Lead and develop five Buyers/Planners/Schedulers, and oversee the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
• Directly supervise a warehouse team and manage 3PL partnerships and freight negotiations.
• Own supplier relationships, contract performance, and SLA management with 3PLs.
• Identify and track cost-reduction initiatives across procurement, freight, inventory, and warehouse operations.
• Establish and monitor key supply chain metrics and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to align plans with production schedules.
• Lead strategic sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, and scorecarding.
