Job summary

BD is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead supplier footprint optimization initiatives for its Pharmacy Automation business in a global, matrix environment. The role coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end supplier transfers, drive cost competitiveness, and strengthen supply chain resilience.

The position requires strong project leadership, governance, and risk management across Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years leading complex supply chain, sourcing, supplier transfer, or optimization projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing supplier transfer and supply base optimization initiatives.
• Strong project management expertise including planning, governance, risk mitigation, and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end supplier footprint optimization and supplier transfer projects aligned with category and sourcing strategies.
• Develop project roadmaps, implementation plans, milestones, governance structures, and success metrics.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities that improve cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supply chain resilience, and business growth.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D.
• Serve as the central project leader, connecting stakeholders, facilitating decisions, resolving issues, and maintaining alignment throughout project execution.
• Manage supplier qualification, validation, onboarding, and operational readiness activities.
• Drive risk identification, mitigation planning, issue resolution, and escalation management.
• Communicate project progress, risks, milestones, timelines, and financial impacts to leadership and business stakeholders.
• Support supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and onboarding activities in partnership with Procurement.
• Establish sustainable governance and performance management processes to ensure successful implementation and long‑term supplier performance.
• Lead change management efforts and influence stakeholders across a global matrix organization.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
