Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Supplier Performance Specialist for its Creedmoor, NC site. You will manage supplier performance, coordinate recovery actions, and drive improvements across supplier KPIs.

The role requires collaboration with production planning, procurement, and quality to align delivery with production needs. Responsibilities include monitoring shipments, expediting orders, and developing action plans for underperforming suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 3–7+ years in supply chain, materials, supplier management, or operations.
• Experience in Aerospace/Defense or regulated manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong PO management, supplier scheduling, lead times, and production-driven supply experience.
• Familiarity with 8D, RCCA, and Lean.
• Strong urgency and execution focus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication with internal/external stakeholders.
• Data-driven mindset and ability to translate data into plans.
• Travel 20–40% to supplier sites and other company locations.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for assigned suppliers impacting site production.
• Manage daily supplier communications to confirm commitments and expedite orders.
• Monitor past-due POs, late deliveries, and at-risk supply against schedules.
• Develop and execute supplier recovery plans and track milestones.
• Elevate risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Apply 8D and RCCA to root-cause supplier issues.
• Engage Manager when issues exceed thresholds.
• Participate in Tier 1-3 daily management meetings.
• Provide updates on shortages and recovery status for high-impact suppliers.
• Align supplier commitments with site production plans.
• Identify risks in capacity, lead times, and quality disruptions.
• Support escalation with data and recommended actions.
• Collaborate with Production Planning and Materials to prioritize shortages.
• Coordinate with Procurement on PO management and escalations.
• Maintain clear cross-team communication on risks and recoveries.
