Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Elyria, OH, is seeking a Supplier Development Specialist to align supplier systems with design intent and customer requirements. The role emphasizes Lean improvements, supplier audits, NPIs, and change management across supplier networks.

You will work with Engineering and Sourcing to drive cost-effective quality improvements, define process parameters, and support new product launches with suppliers. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in manufacturing or engineering is required.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements using Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards, and audits to ensure supplier compliance.
• Develop relationships with sourcing leaders to manage changes, NPIs, and transfers.
• Achieve results measured by supplier metrics like yield and defect rates.
• Specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures for complex processes or advanced products.
• Drive cost-effective improvements to quality and manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical leadership in sourcing and supplier development.
• Lead investigations of major problems or special projects with suppliers.
• Conduct new supplier validation audits and assist with new product launches.
• Collaborate with Engineering to define process parameters and supplier capabilities.
