Job summary

Crane Aerospace and Electronics seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to align supplier systems with customer design intent and ensure ongoing compliance. You will drive improvements using Lean, develop supplier scorecards, audits, and manage changes, NPIs, and transfers across sourcing and engineering teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in manufacturing engineering or supplier quality, expertise in APQP/PPAP/FMEA, and strong communication skills to lead cross-functional initiatives and

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering or Supplier Quality/ Sourcing roles.
• Experience developing and implementing vendor qualification programs.
• Proven change agent with suppliers and internal teams.
• Experience with 6 Sigma & Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Knowledge of quality systems and business systems.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/ISO 14001 and IPC standards.
• Excellent report and procedure writing with strong presentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, prints, and specifications.
• Ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• BS in manufacturing or engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier improvements using Lean and audits to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with sourcing and engineering on NPIs, design changes, and capacity studies.
• Develop supplier scorecards and track corrective actions to drive value.
• Specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures for complex processes.
• Drive cost-effective quality and manufacturing process improvements.
• Lead supplier validation audits and support new product launches.
• Work with Engineering to define process parameters and ensure capability.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
