Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator to apply government contracting practices and lead procurement activities for materials, equipment and services. You will develop acquisition strategies, issue bids, and manage subcontracts through to awards with supervision.

The role requires knowledge of FAR/DFARS and strong communication to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet cost, quality and delivery goals.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Business or Finance with 2 years of experience, or MS with 1 year, or 3 years’ experience related to subcontracting can be substituted for BS/BA.
• Working knowledge of the FAR and DFARS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate short and long-term agreements with suppliers for raw materials, parts, subassemblies, finished goods, MRO materials, equipment, tooling, supplies and/or services.
• Participate in day-to-day subcontract administration activities including market research and supplier sourcing; basic price/cost analysis.
• Issue purchase orders.
• Follow up with requesters and end users regarding purchase orders.
• Assist with supplier metrics and advising suppliers of their performance.
• Review statements of work, material specifications, service contracts, and terms and conditions when required.
• Act as liaison and point of contact with the supplier for formal communications and deliverables.
• Coordinate and communicate with all departments on subcontract related issues.
• Promote continuous improvement in the procurement organization.
• Gather information to evaluate supplier capacity, capability and performance.
