Job summary

Bechtel seeks a Subcontract Formation Specialist to plan, form, administer, and close-out large service and construction subcontracts per Bechtel policies. You will support cradle-to-grave subcontract turnover for field administration.

The role involves budgeting, work-hour estimates, and guiding project teams through planning, bid, and award phases. Strong negotiation and contract knowledge are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5–8 years or 9–12 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of fixed-price and flexibly-priced subcontracts.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience in developing subcontract types, fee arrangements, contract terms, and legal requirements.
• Working knowledge of contract law, negotiations, accounting, or cost engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conforms and ensures subcontract execution.
• Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts.
• Develops and issues subcontracts and services agreements as assigned.
• Prepares bidders' lists and pre-qualifies bidders.
• Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders.
• Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially.
• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations.
• Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepares subcontract documents for execution.
• Prepares and organizes meetings (pre-bid, bid clarification, pre-award).
• Represents Bechtel in contractual discussions of advanced complexity; prepares status reports.
