Job summary

Google is seeking a Government Affairs and Public Policy professional to influence policy in the United States and engage with state and local policymakers. You will partner across teams to address regulatory issues and support strategic initiatives that protect Google's operating license.

The role focuses on monitoring legislative developments, building advocacy plans, and managing relationships with policymakers and coalitions, with significant travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative analysis, or regulatory advocacy.
• 2 years of experience working directly with legislative/executive officials, policy committees, or government agencies.
• Experience managing public policy issues and advocacy campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal leaders to align government affairs and public policy strategies with corporate goals.
• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to assess business impact and identify strategic opportunities.
• Develop comprehensive advocacy plans, policy positions, and materials in support of government policy goals.
• Build trusted relationships with key policymakers, officials, trade associations, and coalition partners.
• Facilitate executive engagements with public officials and manage external consultants and lobbyists to ensure compliant advocacy.
