Job summary

Google is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs professional to shape public policy and advocacy, engaging with state and local policymakers to advance strategic initiatives.

You will partner across teams to mitigate policy risks, navigate regulatory landscapes, and support business growth in key markets. The role requires collaboration with senior leaders and active participation in trade associations to protect our license to operate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative analysis, or regulatory advocacy.
• 2 years of experience working directly with legislative/executive officials, policy committees, or government agencies.
• Experience managing public policy issues and advocacy campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal leaders to align government affairs and public policy strategies with corporate goals.
• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to assess business impact and identify strategic opportunities.
• Develop comprehensive advocacy plans, policy positions, and materials in support of government policy goals.
• Build trusted relationships with key policymakers, officials, trade associations, and coalition partners.
• Facilitate executive engagements with public officials and manage external consultants and lobbyists to ensure compliant advocacy.
