Job summary

Dow Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a State Government Affairs Director to lead integrated state government affairs, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement aligned with Dow's business priorities and regulatory objectives.

You will build relationships with governors, legislators, and agencies, translate policy risks into business strategies, and influence senior leaders across complex, high-impact initiatives with autonomy and strategic vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a US E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
• 10 years of public policy and/or government advocacy experience.
• Ability to work legally in the United States with no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute state government affairs strategies aligned with Dow's business priorities and advocacy objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with governors, legislators, economic development officials, and other stakeholders.
• Advise business and site leaders on state legislative, regulatory, political, and economic developments.
• Represent Dow before state legislative bodies and regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate advocacy efforts across Dow sites, trade associations, NGOs, and external consultants.
• Draft, review, and support legislative amendments and regulatory language.
• Shape coalition advocacy strategies and stakeholder engagement efforts.
• Advance policies promoting manufacturing competitiveness, energy affordability, and infrastructure investment.
• Support Dow's political engagement activities and relationship development with elected officials.
