Job summary

Meridian Bioscience Inc. in Cincinnati is seeking a Senior Manager of Sourcing and Procurement to lead the site’s procurement strategy, supplier relationships, and cost-management initiatives.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and other functions to optimize supplier performance and mitigate risks. You will drive category-management evolution, lead major supplier negotiations, and align with corporate policies while supporting other Diagnostics sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; concentration in business, supply chain, operations, or science preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or materials-management experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of people-leadership experience; cross-functional projects/indirect reporting preferred.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
• CPM, CPSM, APICS/ASCM, or similar professional certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated supplier negotiation, contract management, supplier-performance, and supplier-relationship skills.
• Strong working knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, inventory, and supply-risk management best practices.
• Ability to balance local site ownership with collaboration on company policies and cross-site initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Cincinnati sourcing and procurement team and organization; ensure safe, compliant, timely work.
• Evolve from transactional purchasing to strategic sourcing delivering supplier value and mitigating risk.
• Develop and execute sourcing, purchasing, supplier-management, and inventory strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and lead mitigation for material risks.
• Maintain accurate ERP records and comply with Quality System and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Trade Compliance on import classifications and HTS data.
• Lead competitive bids, quotations, pricing, and supply agreements.
• Represent Materials Management on Quality Review Board and resolve issues.
• Work with utilities and Facilities/ESG to reduce environmental impact.
• Collaborate with PMs, Engineering, and Quality on material requirements for new products.
• Support value analysis, cost-reduction, and total-cost-of-ownership initiatives.
• Lead or support major supply chain improvement projects (ERP, automation, standardization).
• Share best practices and implement policies across Diagnostics sites.
• Consolidate spend and leverage volume with Life Science division when appropriate.
• Maintain fiduciary responsibility for sourcing and adhere to corporate policies.
• Build an inclusive, accountable team culture focused on service and results.
