Qualifications

  • 7+ years of people leadership; cross-functional project experience recommended.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing is preferred.
  • CPM/CSCM/APICS or similar certification is a plus.

Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Sourcing and Procurement leads procurement and category management activities for the Cincinnati Diagnostics site, ensuring the reliable, compliant, and cost-effective acquisition of components, supplies, services, and equipment. This role collaborates across Operations, Production Planning, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and other functions to optimize supplier performance, mitigate supply risk, manage inventory, and control costs. The position establishes and maintains site purchasing and supplier-management practices, contributes to companywide procurement policies and standards, supports other Diagnostics sites as priorities and capacity allow, and partners with the Life Science division to consolidate spend, leverage purchasing volume, and improve commercial terms.

Key Duties
  • Lead and develop the Cincinnati sourcing and procurement team and organization, including transactional procurement support for the requisition-to-purchase-order lifecycle and strategic category-management capabilities; set priorities and ensure work is completed safely, compliantly, and on time.
  • Drive the continued evolution from a transactional purchasing model to a strategic sourcing and procurement function that delivers supplier value, mitigates risk, and supports Cincinnati site and enterprise objectives.
  • Develop and execute sourcing, purchasing, supplier-management, and inventory strategies that support service, quality, risk, and cost objectives.
  • Develop supplier monitoring metrics for performance, quality, capacity, lead times, pricing, and supply risk; lead mitigation plans and elevate material risks as appropriate.
  • Ensure team maintains accurate purchasing, pricing, supplier, and inventory records in the ERP system and retain records in accordance with applicable Quality System and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant import classifications and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) data for Cincinnati materials and finished products are established, maintained, and appropriately applied in partnership with Trade Compliance.
  • Recommend and select suppliers in accordance with the Quality System and supply chain strategy.
  • Lead competitive bids, obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and initiate supply agreements in accordance with company policies.
  • Represent Materials Management on Quality Review Board; assist in resolving material quality, supplier, and supply-continuity issues.
  • Work with electric and gas utility providers to secure best pricing for energy consumption requirements and partners with the Facilities teams and ESG Working Group to reduce environmental impact of the Company's operations over time.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Quality on purchased-material requirements for new product development, product changes, and supplier changes.
  • Support value analysis, cost-reduction, and total-cost-of-ownership initiatives for Cincinnati operations and other Diagnostics sites based on business need.
  • Lead or support major supply chain improvement projects, such as ERP, automation, process standardization, or supplier-performance initiatives, with a primary focus on Cincinnati Diagnostics.
  • Function as a leader and facilitator for best-practice sharing, and policy implementation to other Diagnostics sites as necessary.
  • Work with Life Science Supply Chain and Procurement colleagues, when commercially and operationally appropriate, to consolidate spend, align supplier strategies, and leverage combined purchasing volume.
  • Accepts fiduciary responsibility for sourcing and communicates and maintains adherence to Merdian's corporate policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; concentration in business, supply chain, operations, or science preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or materials-management experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of people-leadership experience required; experience leading cross-functional projects and/or indirect reporting is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • CPM, CPSM, APICS/ASCM, or similar professional certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation, contract management, supplier-performance, and supplier-relationship skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of sourcing, purchasing, inventory, and supply-risk management best practices.
  • Ability to balance local site ownership with effective collaboration on company policies and cross-site initiatives.
  • Ability to identify appropriate opportunities to leverage spend and supplier relationships across business divisions.
  • Experience using ERP and inventory-management systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, coaching, organizational, and change-management skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow applicable SOPs, quality requirements, and company guidelines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage time effectively, and set clear priorities for direct reports.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and, when required, work additional hours to meet departmental needs.
