Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Sourcing and Meeting Manager in Illinois to guide clients through venue and meeting sourcing, coordinating with internal and external partners, and leading end-to-end logistics. The role requires 5+ years in meeting management or hotel procurement, Cvent experience, CMP designation preferred, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

You will negotiate with suppliers, manage RFPs, and strive for program savings while maintaining excellent client

Qualifications

• 5+ years in meeting management or hotel procurement.
• Cvent experience and CMP designation preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of domestic destinations; international a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent listening skills and a consultative approach.
• Available to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead client calls to review and understand meeting needs.
• Negotiate pricing and package details with suppliers to meet savings targets.
• Conduct RFPs with hotels and suppliers for room blocks and logistics.
• Participate in re-negotiations or cancellations as needed.
• Maintain records and collaborate with accounting on billing and savings.
• Evaluate program impact and plan continuous improvement.
• Develop positive relationships with client team, suppliers, and Amex GBT colleagues.
• Lead by example and assist onboarding of new colleagues.
