Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Sourcing and Meeting Manager in Illinois to guide clients through venue and meeting sourcing, coordinating with internal and external partners, and leading end-to-end logistics. The role requires 5+ years in meeting management or hotel procurement, Cvent experience, CMP designation preferred, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

You will negotiate with suppliers, manage RFPs, and strive for program savings while maintaining excellent client

Qualifications

• Cvent experience and CMP designation preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of domestic destinations; international a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent listening skills and a consultative approach.
• Available to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead client calls to review and understand meeting needs.
• Negotiate pricing and package details with suppliers to meet savings targets.
• Conduct RFPs with hotels and suppliers for room blocks and logistics.
• Participate in re-negotiations or cancellations as needed.
• Maintain records and collaborate with accounting on billing and savings.
• Evaluate program impact and plan continuous improvement.
• Develop positive relationships with client team, suppliers, and Amex GBT colleagues.
• Lead by example and assist onboarding of new colleagues.

In this role, you'll guide clients through the venue and meeting sourcing process, communicating with internal and external partners, and leading the logistics of your project from end-to-end.**What You'll Do*** Lead client calls to review and understand their meeting needs and ensure programs exceed requirements* Negotiate pricing and other package details with suppliers to support the client while meeting their savings and spend expectations* Conduct RFPs with hotels and suppliers to secure room blocks and other logistical needs* May participate in re-negotiations or cancellation negotiations as needed* Maintain accurate records and files, collaborate with accounting to supervise billing, expenses, and savings negotiations* Evaluate and supervise program impact and outcomes, build a plan for continuous improvement* Proactively develop positive relationships with multiple members of the client team, suppliers, Amex GBT team and support departments* Act as a leader by promoting a positive team environment and assisting with onboarding new colleagues as needed**What We're Looking For*** 5+years in meeting management, hotel procurement or equivalent* Cvent experience and CMP designation (preferred)* Extensive knowledge of domestic destinations (international a plus)* Proficient in Microsoft Office* Excellent listening skills and passion for learning* Proactive in understanding client needs and enacting change with a consultative approach* Collaborative and passionate about building relationships* Available to travel up to 10%**Location**Illinois, United StatesThe US national base salary range for this position is from$55,300.00 - $102,700.00The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role.
